Kit Content
Your kit contains everything you need:
- Two mouth swabs for each test participant for up to three people for our relationship tests.
- Swabs for just one person for each of our other DNA tests.
- Instructions detailing exactly how to collect the DNA samples.
- Consent forms. We can not proceed with testing unless these are complete.
- A return envelope to send your samples back to our facility for testing.
Collecting DNA Samples
Step 1:
Complete all of your details on the enclosed forms. Testing will not be conducted if these forms are incomplete or signatures are missing.
Step 2:
Gently rub each swab on the inside of the cheek for 15 seconds. All swabs from each swab package must be used for each individual to be tested. Ensure that you do not touch the collection end of the swab (with the brush) with your hands.
Step 3:
Place swabs into the correct sample envelopes and leave open to dry for 30 minutes. For the relationship tests wth multiple individuals, ensure that you do not mix your samples up!
Step 4:
After 30 minutes of drying time, seal each sample envelope, place in the pre-paid return envelope, and return to our laboratory.
Remember!
- Do not put anything in your mouth (or the mouth of the person to be tested) for one hour before collecting the sample. This means no eating, drinking, chewing gum, smoking, brushing teeth or using mouthwash. If you are collecting a DNA sample from a baby, please do not feed or use of pacifiers for one hour before collecting the DNA sample.
- Wait for the swabs to dry before sealing the envelope.
Testing begins as soon as we receive your sample. - Unfortunately, We can not guarantee the length of time it will take your samples to reach our laboratory. However, your order status can be tracked online. Be assured that your results will be online in your secure account as soon as they are available. For our relationship tests, this is within 1-2 business days after receipt of the samples at the laboratory.
