What is laboratory accreditation?

Accreditation is basically a certificate of competency. Every year, we are assessed by completely independent organizations to ensure that our facility and all of our protocols meet the exceptionally high international standards required for DNA testing laboratories.

What accreditations do we have?

Our laboratory holds all of the prestigious DNA laboratory accreditations: AABB, CAP, CLIA, SCC, and ISO17025. We are committed for quality for every single DNA test.

Accuracy

Every single DNA result provided by our laboratory is completely accurate. If there are any ambiguities, the test is rerun to ensure that the result you receive is the most accurate result possible.

The results of a paternity or maternity are conclusive. Although it is statistically impossible to provide a 100% probability of paternal or maternal relationship, we can get it very close! If there is a DNA match, we guarantee that the result is >99.99% (for “inclusions”). And if the alleged father/mother is in fact not the biological parent of a child, we can guarantee that he/she is “excluded” to 100%. Our twin test provides the same guarantee, as we can say for sure if a set of twins are identical or fraternal. Unfortunately, due to statistical calculations, the guarantee is not as strong for our other relationship tests. Hence, if a father or mother is available for testing, the paternity or maternity test is the best option to choose.

Your results

DNA analyses might be complicated and difficult to understand, but we aim to keep your results as simple and straight forward as possible. Your results will clearly show:

  • Details of everyone that has been tested
  • Genetic profile for each individual
  • Probability of biological relationship (or affect of genetic variant for other tests)
  • Complete interpretation of your results
